A space to understand how your healing & systems intersect.
WHAT’S IT LIKE TO WORK TOGETHER?
-
Gestalt trained, I use mindfulness to engage in the present moment inviting the felt sense and relationship between counselor and client to inform client’s healing.
Meditation, somatic awareness, reflecting practices and Gestalt experiments are all used within the therapeutic container to develop better understanding of self.
-
I incorporate spiritual rituals, counselor and client cultural practices and other traditions into Western, modern counseling practice to create an inclusive and informed practice.
Incorporation of altered states of consciousness as sources of information, exploration and support - this may be facilitated through plant medicine, breathwork, near death experiences or other states beyond our full understanding.
-
Using a multicultural orientation I am curious and respectful about the ways that identity, culture and experiences impact an individual’s mental health and counseling process.
This means utilizing culture as a source of strength, incorporating ancestral and Indigenous ways of knowing and healing, and inviting perspectives outside of Western thought.
-
With an understanding of the impact of trauma on a person’s experience and nervous system; I strive to create a brave space in which individuals can attend to their needs.
I recognize the therapeutic container as a space that can be healing or harmful and strive to consider and attune to the client's needs around autonomy and independence.
